Maca Matcha Powder Drink

Maca Matcha Summer Ice Drink

It has been very hot in Ireland for the past few weeks. No complaints though, keep the sunshine coming, Universe! Thanks to this heat I had to come up with a few healthy & delicious ice drinks that I can make at home, using my blender.

This ice drink is so easy to make and it contains two of my favourite smoothie ingredients: matcha and maca powder. More about the amazing health benefits of these super foods, at the end of this post.

Prep time: 5 minutes

Health Benefits

Maca powder is made from the Maca root, which is a Peruvian cruciferous vegetable with amazing health benefits. Maca powder is rich in potassium, manganese, iron, vitamin B6, vitamin C, copper and it’s a great source of protein. Some of its health benefits include increasing fertility, relieving symptoms of menopause; improving your mood, performance and energy; it also improves learning and memory. You can add maca powder to smoothies, hot chocolate, coffee and cold drinks.

Matcha Powder is equally amazing, being a source of powerful antioxidants, fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins. Matcha powder is a ceremonial Japanese drink made of green tea leaves crushed into a beautifully green powder. It’s known for lowering cholesterol, helping with weight loss and preventing disease. If you haven’t tried the matcha latte before, you should drop everything and go to your local coffee shop now! It’s amazing! If you can’t have coffee, matcha latte is jus as effective and tasty.

I will get back with a post on how to make matcha latte soon.

Until then, enjoy the sunshine and do what makes you happy!

Hugs & Kisses,

Catherine
